- Use bottled water that has not been exposed to flood waters if it is available.
- If you don't have bottled water, you should boil water to make it safe. Boiling water will kill most types of disease-causing organisms that may be present. If the water is cloudy, filter it through clean cloths or allow it to settle, and draw off the clear water for boiling. Boil the water for one minute, let it cool, and store it in clean containers with covers.
- If you can't boil water, you can disinfect it using household bleach. Bleach will kill some, but not all, types of disease-causing organisms that may be in the water. If the water is cloudy, filter it through clean cloths or allow it to settle, and draw off the clear water for disinfection. Add 1/8 teaspoon (or 8 drops) of regular, unscented, liquid household bleach for each gallon of water, stir it well and let it stand for 30 minutes before you use it. Store disinfected water in clean containers with covers.
- If you have a well that has been flooded, the water should be tested and disinfected after flood waters recede. If you suspect that your well may be contaminated, contact your local or state health department or agriculture extension agent for specific advice.
Buckle up your seat belts, because the next 2 months are going to be wild.........
Ever since McCain picked Palin, I have been saying that it was because of her experience and readiness towards the Russian threat to the Alaskan region.
McCain knows the Russian threat very well and the Russians are afraid of him. The Russian media has been bashing McCain heavily the past few months, because they are trying to show him and the
McCain witnessed the Russian KGB torturing American POW's in
Putin claims that the
“Soviet Military intelligence is behind the global Islamic terror network” – Christopher Story, Intelligence expert for Margaret Thatcher.
I was surprised that CNN reported this NY Times editorial by Gail Collins and this detail about Palin needs to be made more public, because the average American idiot only cares about their IPOD and they have no clue about the Russian threat. I actually met someone the other day that was so busy with work and her kid, that she did not even know that
The media has a socialist and anti-American agenda and they want this country to fall. These moron liberals do not understand that the Russians will kill many of them and their children too, they do not care that you are a stealth communist. They see you as an American and they will shoot you in the head or rape you if you are a woman, just like the Nazi's did to the French collaborators.
Liberals have a dangerous, suicidal personality, they are weak and they are a tumor that will rot this nation to it's very core if the powerful ones are not weeded out and imprisoned.
Gail Collins is correct, Gov. Sarah Palin is ready for the Russian threat and Obama IS PART OF the Russian threat.
McCain’s Baked Alaska
It is conceivable that some people will think John McCain picked Sarah Palin to be his running mate because she is a woman. I know you find this shocking, but I swear I have heard it mentioned.
McCain does not believe in pandering to identity politics. He was looking for someone who was well prepared to fight against international Islamic extremism, the transcendent issue of our time. And in the end he decided that in good conscience, he was not going to settle for anyone who had not been commander of a state national guard for at least a year and a half. He put down his foot!
The obvious choice was Palin, the governor of Alaska, whose guard stands as our last best defense against possible attack by the resurgent Russian menace across the Bering Strait.
Also a woman, but that’s totally beside the point.
True, the only nonfamily members other than McCain that Palin really mentioned in her introductory speech were Democrats Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Whatever happened to Ronald Reagan? Isn’t there a rule that you have to mention Ronald Reagan?“It was rightly noted in Denver that Hillary made 18 million cracks in the highest, hardest glass ceiling in America,” Palin said. “It turns out the women of America aren’t finished yet, and we can shatter that glass ceiling.

SOCHI, Russia (CNN) -- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has accused the United States of orchestrating the conflict in Georgia to benefit one of its presidential election candidates.
In an exclusive interview with CNN's Matthew Chance in the Black Sea city of Sochi Thursday, Putin said the U.S. had encouraged Georgia to attack the autonomous region of South Ossetia.
Putin told CNN his defense officials had told him it was done to benefit a presidential candidate -- Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama are competing to succeed George W. Bush -- although he presented no evidence to back it up.
"U.S. citizens were indeed in the area in conflict," Putin said. "They were acting in implementing those orders doing as they were ordered, and the only one who can give such orders is their leader." Watch Putin accuse the United States »
White House spokeswoman Dana Perino blasted Putin's statements, saying they were "patently false."
"To suggest that the United States orchestrated this on behalf of a political candidate just sounds not rational," she said.
U.S. State Department deputy spokesman Robert Wood concurred, and labeled Putin's statements as "ludicrous."
MOSCOW (AFP) — Russia on Thursday tested an inter-continental missile, reports said, heightening tensions with the West as France warned the European Union could slap sanctions on Moscow over the Georgia conflict.
Russia also sought international support for its stance at a summit with China and Central Asian nations.
The missile test in northern Russia came barely a week after the United States completed an accord with Poland on basing an anti-missile shield in central Europe and as Russia accuses NATO of building up its navy vessels in the Black Sea.
A spokesman for Russia's strategic nuclear forces said the test was successful, Russian news agencies reported. The announcement came as Russia complained about the number of NATO ships in the Black Sea and said it was taking "measures of precaution".
NATO said there were five warships taking part in exercises in the Black Sea that were organised before Russia's military offensive in Georgia on August 8 to rebuff a Georgian attempt to retake breakaway South Ossetia.
The standoff with the West deepened with President Dmitry Medvedev's announcement that Russia recognised South Ossetia and another rebel region, Abkhazia, as independent states.
"There is no NATO naval build up in the Black Sea as Russian authorities are claiming in the media," alliance spokeswoman Carmen Romero said.
In a statement, NATO said: "This deployment is routine in nature and has been planned for over a year. Notification of the requirement to transit the Turkish Straits was given in June well before the current Georgia crisis and is completely unrelated."
US warships have taken relief supplies to Georgia outside of the NATO exercises and other western nations are beleived to have vessels in the Black Sea. Russia has moved some of its own naval forces to the Abkhaz port of Sukhumi.
EU states are considering imposing sanctions on Russia at an emergency summit on the Georgian crisis on Monday, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said.
"Sanctions are being considered, and many other means," said Kouchner, whose country holds the European Union presidency.
"We are trying to draw up a strong text showing our desire not to accept" the situation in Georgia, he told reporters, while refusing to disclose what kind of sanctions were under consideration.
Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov shrugged off the threat, saying it was made "just because they're upset that the 'little pet' of certain Western capitals didn't fulfill their expectations."
Lavrov suggested the French foreign minister had a "sick imagination" after Kouchner argued that Moscow could have designs on Ukraine, Crimea and Moldova.
Russia claimed it had secured support from China and four other nations at a summit in Dushanbe, the Tajikistan capital.
The statement released by the six nations at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit voiced support for Russia's "active role" in "assisting in peace and cooperation in the region" but also called for dialogue and respect for "territorial integrity".

Is something brewing? Keep messing around COMMIES.....
MOSCOW: Russian commanders Wednesday said they were growing alarmed at the number of NATO warships sailing into the Black Sea, conceding that NATO vessels now outnumbered the ships in their fleet anchored off the western coast of Georgia.
As focus turned to the balance of naval power in the sea, the leader of the separatist region of Abkhazia said he would invite Russia to establish a naval base at the deep-water port of Sukhumi.
And in a move certain to pique Russia, at a time when tensions over Ukraine's predominantly Russian province of Crimea are already elevated, the Ukrainian president, Viktor Yushchenko, said he would open negotiations with the authorities in Moscow to raise the rent on the Russian naval base at Sevastopol.
The Untied States is pursuing a delicate policy of delivering humanitarian aid on military transport planes and ships, to illustrate to the Russians that they do not fully control Georgia's airspace or coastline.
The policy has left American and Russian naval vessels maneuvering in close proximity off the western coast of Georgia, with the Americans sailing near the southern port of Batumi and the Russians the central port of Poti.http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/08/27/europe/georgia.php

All of these drug cartels are backed and funded by the Russians as part of their plan to demoralize and undermine the youth of America with DRUGS. This plan was devised under Nikita Kruschev, back in the late 50's.
EL PASO, Texas — Security is being heightened along the southern U.S. border because of a threat that warring Mexican cartels may send hit men into the United States, authorities said Monday.
Law enforcement officials would not discuss specific security measures being taken at the ports of entry, along the border or in the city of El Paso, Texas.
"We received credible information that drug cartels in Mexico have given permission to hit targets on the U.S. side of the border," El Paso police spokesman Officer Chris Mears said.
Authorities learned of the threat last week.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection Chief Officer Rick Lopez said: "CBP is on heightened alert ever since we became aware of the threats in Mexico."
U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Doug Mosier said officials "are reinforcing the importance of vigilance."
Drug cartel violence has claimed thousands of lives in Mexico this year. Nearly 800 people have been killed in Ciudad Juarez, a hardscrabble city of about 1.3 million people across the Rio Grande from El Paso.
The cartels, battling one another and the Mexican government for supremacy and control of lucrative drug and human smuggling routes, have become brazen in their attacks in recent months.
DENVER (CBS4/AP) ― CBS4 has learned at least four people are under arrest in connection with a possible plot to kill Barack Obama at his Thursday night acceptance speech in Denver. All are being held on either drug or weapons charges.CBS4 Investigator Brian Maass reported one of the suspects told authorities they were "going to shoot Obama from a high vantage point using a ... rifle … sighted at 750 yards."Law enforcement sources tell Maass that one of the suspects "was directly asked if they had come to Denver to kill Obama. He responded in the affirmative.
"The story began emerging Sunday morning when Aurora police arrested 28-year-old Tharin Gartrell. He was driving a rented pickup truck in an erratic manner according to sources.Sources told CBS4 police found two high-powered, scoped rifles in the car along with camouflage clothing, walkie-talkies, wigs, a bulletproof vest, a spotting scope, licenses in the names of other people and 44 grams of methamphetamine.
One of the rifles is listed as stolen from Kansas.Aurora police alerted federal officials because of heightened security surrounding the Democratic convention, Dudley said."Clearly we found there are federal implications -- otherwise we would not have notified them," Det. Marcus Dudley with Aurora police said. "The weapons clearly would cause great concern."

Ummmmmm, a Russian or Chinese SCALAR ATTACK ....MAYBE ????
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — An analysis of recent earthquake activity around New York City has found that many small faults that were believed to be inactive could contribute to a major, disastrous earthquake.
The study also finds that a line of seismic activity comes within two miles of the Indian Point nuclear power plant, about 25 miles north of New York City. Another fault line near the plant was already known, so the findings suggest Indian Point is at an intersection of faults.
The study's authors, who work at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Observatory, acknowledge that the biggest earthquakes — in the 6 or 7 magnitude range — are rare in the New York City region. They say a quake of magnitude 7 probably comes about every 3,400 years.
But they note that no one knows when the last one hit, and because of the population density and the concentration of buildings and financial assets, many lives and hundreds of billions of dollars are at risk.
The metropolitan area does not have a single great fault like the San Andreas fault in California, said Leonardo Seeber, co-author of the study.
"Instead of having a single major fault or a few major faults, we tend to have a lot of very minor and sort of subtle faults," he said. "It's a family of faults, and that can contribute to the severity of an earthquake."
John Ebel, director of seismology at Boston College's Weston Observatory, said he agreed with the study's finding that small faults can contribute to large earthquakes. "A quake can jump from one fault to another," he said.
The study, published in the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, analyzed 383 known earthquakes over the past 330 years in or near New York City. The biggest were three that reached magnitude 5 in 1737, 1783 and 1884.
Data on earthquakes since the early 1970s, when Lamont deployed dozens of new detectors, enabled the authors to see patterns from smaller quakes, including the magnitude 4.1 quake that was centered on Ardsley, in Westchester County, in 1985.
The report inferred from the data that there is a seismic zone, previously undetected, running west from the southwest tip of Connecticut and intersecting with the large, well-known Ramapo fault near Indian Point.
Lynn Sykes, the lead author, said the finding means the danger of a big quake near the nuclear plants is greater that had been thought.
Sykes acknowledged in an interview with The Associated Press that he is opposed to an application from Entergy Nuclear, which owns the nuclear plant, to extend the licenses of the two reactors, but he said, "I try to keep that as independent from my work as possible."
Columbia spokesman Kevin Krajick said the study had been provided before publication to state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who argued unsuccessfully earlier this year that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission should consider the new earthquake data as it decides whether to extend the licenses.
Ebel said the report's suggestion of a fault line was "a purely circumstantial, speculative argument, but while it's speculative it's within the scientific bounds of reason." He praised the study and urged other scientists to build on it.
Jim Steets, a spokesman for Entergy, said the plant was designed to withstand a seismic event. He said that even if the frequency and intensity of earthquakes is greater than was believed when the plant was built, it wouldn't drastically change the outlook for plant safety.
He said the plant "may very well be among the safest places to go during a seismic event."

There have been allegations that Obama was having a homosexual affair with a man named Donald Young. Young was a choirmaster at Obama's Trinity church and he was executed back (shot in the head) in December 2007, just several months before Obama announced his candidacy for the election.
Larry Sinclair, the man that alleges that he had gay sex and did drugs with Obama, states that he and Donald Young spoke on the phone just days before his murder, but he did not say what they talked about.
This video also claims that Obama has had a homosexual affair with his pastor, Jeremiah Wright for over 20 years. Again, I have no proof of this...I am just posting the video for you to decide.

The white liberal communist is the greatest threat to this country and they are the gas in Obama's engine.
One more thing - Biden voted for the IRAQ WAR, I am sure that does not stand well with Obama's communist base. These libtards are totally out of their minds....

This is just more propaganda to cover up the 9/11 trail that leads to Putin and MOSCOW. The Muslim terrorists were communist agents acting on the behalf of the Russians and this is the real reason why Bush and Putin are butting heads over NATO since 2001.
Al Qaeda's #2 man, Ayman Zawahiri has been KGB since at least 1980 and he even assisted with the assassination of Anwar Sadat in Egypt, but of course you will never hear this from the socialist American media.
Russia is in bed with Iran and Syria for years, but the relationship is stealth to the media and the morons in America. When I mention the Russian threat, they still look at me like I am nuts. Iran and Syria have been assisting, funding and arming terrorism since the 70's and Russia is guilty by association.
The KGB celebrates 9/11, because it is the date of birth of the founder of the KGB (09/11/1877). This is also the date of death of Nikita Kruschev (09/11/1971). The plan to infiltrate the USA 's media, political party's and colleges with socialist ideologies and drugs was hatched under Kruschevs watch according to Soviet defectors.
The USA has been engaged in a proxy war with the Russians and the Chinese since the Korean War, but 9/11 the war was brought to American soil. I suspect that this truth might be coming out soon due to the increase in the anti-Russian comments coming out of Washington.
Notice the propaganda in the article? It states that the USA is a fascist police state and this is the same propaganda that the Alex Jones loons preach everyday on the Internet. This is to rile up the left wing loons and other gullible people. The goal is to turn them against their own government, so they are basically siding with the leftists and aiding their socialist revolution in doing so. It is very clever and it is working effectively I might add.
This article is classic disinformation propaganda...enjoy.

The Italian edition of Vanity Fair said that it had found George Hussein Onyango Obama living in a hut in a ramshackle town of Huruma on the outskirts of Nairobi.
Mr Obama, 26, the youngest of the presidential candidate's half-brothers, spoke for the first time about his life, which could not be more different than that of the Democratic contender.
"No-one knows who I am," he told the magazine, before claiming: "I live here on less than a dollar a month."
According to Italy's Vanity Fair his two metre by three metre shack is decorated with football posters of the Italian football giants AC Milan and Inter, as well as a calendar showing exotic beaches of the world.
Vanity Fair also noted that he had a front page newspaper picture of his famous brother - born of the same father as him, Barack Hussein Obama, but to a different mother, named only as Jael.
He told the magazine: "I live like a recluse, no-one knows I exist."
Embarrassed by his penury, he said that he does not does not mention his famous half-brother in conversation.
"If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related. I am ashamed," he said.
For ten years George Obama lived rough. However he now hopes to try to sort his life out by starting a course at a local technical college.
He has only met his famous older brother twice - once when he was just five and the last time in 2006 when Senator Obama was on a tour of East Africa and visited Nairobi.
The Illinois senator mentions his brother in his autobiography, describing him in just one passing paragraph as a "beautiful boy with a rounded head".
Of their second meeting, George Obama said: "It was very brief, we spoke for just a few minutes. It was like meeting a complete stranger."
George added he was no longer in contact with his mother and said:"I have had to learn to live and take what I need.
"Huruma is a tough place, last January during the elections there was rioting and six people were hacked to death. The police don't even arrest you they just shoot you.
"I have seen two of my friends killed. I have scars from defending myself with my fists. I am good with my fists."
I guess the hypocrite liberals are not so GREEN, but they are ELITIST...NO DOUBT.
DENVER - Thousands of delegates, politicians, supporters and protesters are expected to descend upon Denver for the Democratic National Convention in two weeks. One thing they may not find is a ride around town due to a lack of limousines.
"Everyone wants a limo, but you can only supply so many," said Gene Cookenboo, president of the Limousine Association of Colorado and owner of Presidential Limousine, the largest limo service in Denver.
According to records, 271 limo companies are registered at DIA. However, Cookenboo says the majority of those companies only have one to three cars. It comes at a time when limo companies are expected to make 125 runs a day during the DNC compared to 80 during a normal week.
"We're simply running out of cars," said Cookenboo.
Cookenboo says many of those cars are reserved for 12 to 24 hours a day by a particular person or group of people to get around town during the four-day convention.http://www.9news.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=97431&catid=346
Lenin had a name for people like you - "Useful idiots"...
NEW YORK - Oil prices shot up more than $5 a barrel Thursday, rising to the highest level in over two weeks as escalating tensions with Russia stoked fears of supply disruptions to the West.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's political party, "Yadinaya Rasiya" (United Russia), will open a branch in Israel, marking the first time ever that a Russian party will have an official mission in the country.
Likewise, Israel's ruling party, Kadima, is slated to open its own branch in Moscow. The party already has offices operating in France and the United States. The move is aimed at boosting the party's support among Russian-speaking voters who are eligible to vote in their native country's elections and mostly tend to back Putin's party.
A later KGB report to the Soviet bosses revealed that on March 5, 1980, Tunney met with the KGB in Moscow on behalf of Senator Kennedy. Tunney expressed Kennedy's opinion that "nonsense about the military threat and Soviet ambitions for military expansion in the Persian Gulf....was being fueled by [President Jimmy] Carter, [National Security Advisor Zbignew] Brzezinski, the Pentagon, and the military industrial complex."
At that time, Carter was running for re-election, and Kennedy was challenging him in the Democrat primaries. That the Massachusetts senator would in effect carry his campaign to the secret police of a hostile foreign power is a back-stabbing scandal of considerable magnitude.
It is relevant (though by no means exculpatory on Kennedy's part) to note that this was at a time when Carter himself, after spending three years dismissing "the inordinate fear of communism," had (temporarily, at least) come to his senses because of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. It seems Kennedy was sneaking behind the back of a sitting president and encouraging an enemy foreign power to undermine that president who — by the way — was of the senator's own political party.
Ted Kennedy -- KGB collaborator?
Ted Kennedy has acknowledged that Ronald Reagan "will be honored as the president who won the Cold War." But if a letter from the head of the KGB to Soviet leader Yuri Andropov is authentic and accurate, then Kennedy offered to work with the Soviets to undermine the very efforts by Reagan that brought us that victory.
The letter, dated May 14 1983, features in a new book by Paul Kengor called The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism discussed here by the Washington Times. In the letter, KGB head Viktor Chebrikov describes a message he received from Kennedy through Kennedy pal and former U.S. Senator John Tunney. According to Chebrikov, Kennedy (through Tunney) expressed concern with "Reagan's belligerence" and the fact that antipathy towards the Soviets will be an important issue in the 1984 presidential campaign. Kennedy stated that the peaceful intentions of the Soviets weren't being given their due by the president or the media. He therefore proposed a meeting with Soviet officials in which he would "arm" them with arguments "so they may be better prepared and more convincing during appearances in the USA." He also suggested that Andropov made himself available for interviews by media in the U.S.
In short, if the KGB man's account is accurate, Kennedy was working with the Soviets to undermine Reagan's hard line policies and influence the 1984 election. As Kengor puts it:
If the memo is in fact an accurate account of what transpired, it constitutes a remakable example of the lengths to which some on the political left, including a sitting U.S. senator, were willing to go to stop Ronald Reagan.
Raise your hand if you believe that Ted Kennedy and today's left-wing Democrats are above this sort of behavior when it comes to stopping President Bush.
JOHN adds: Kennedy wasn't the only one. As we've noted before, Soviet archives also indicate that Jimmy Carter and Tip O'Neill offered to collaborate with the Russians to undermine Reagan.

History repeating itself? The Russians seem to like making military moves in August. I have noticed this for some time and EVERY AUGUST for the past 4 years I have watched these bastards closely. This August, it finally happened...Georgia.
An interesting angle that I have not heard yet from anyone is the USA was involved in the Vietnam war when Russia invaded Czechoslovakia. Today , while the USA is in Iraq and Afghanistan Russia invades Georgia. Was it part of their plan? Keep the USA busy while fighting their surrogates (yes, Saddam was a Russian surrogate and so is Al Qaeda) so they can just walk into any Country that they like. Interesting...
Tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of the invasion of Czechoslovakia..........
1 - August 21, 1968 - Czechoslovakia invaded
2 - August 29, 1949 - Russia tested their first atomic bomb,
3- August 8th, 1945 - (the same day as the Georgia invasion) Russia declares war on Japan
4 - August 20, 1991 - The staged collapse of the USSR, Gorbachev placed under house arrest.
5- August 25, 1941 - Soviet and British troops invaded Iran in reaction to the Shah's refusal to reduce the number of German residents.
6 - August 24, 1991 - President Mikhail Gorbachev resigned as the head of the Communist Party
7 - August 19, 1960 - The Soviet Union launched its Sputnik 5 satellite into Earth orbit
8- August 13, 1849 - Nicholas I sent Russian troops to Austria to quell the Hungarian Rebellion

A FRIEND SENT THIS TO ME.............
WASHINGTON, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Republican National
Committee (RNC) published an update at its BarackBook.com website yesterday
that accuses Barack Obama presidential campaign bundler Jodie Evans of
supporting the insurgency in Iraq.
Evans is co-founder of the so-called antiwar group Code Pink.
The RNC quoted a January 15, 2006 column by Robert Novak that said,
"Code Pink, At A Mock War Crimes Tribunal In Istanbul June 27, Signed A
Declaration That The Iraqi Insurgency 'Deserved The Support Of People
Everywhere Who Care For Justice And Freedom.'"
Evans represented Code Pink at the mock war crimes tribunal. In
addition to expressing Code Pink's support for the insurgency, Evans
published a statement from Istanbul personally endorsing the insurgency
that has killed thousands of American troops and free Iraqis:
"We must begin by really standing with the Iraqi people and defending
their right to resist. I can remain myself against all forms of violence,
and yet I cannot judge what someone has to do when pushed to the wall to
protect all they love. The Iraqi people are fighting for their country, to
protect their families and to preserve all they love. They are fighting for
their lives, and we are fighting for lies." (AlterNet, June 26, 2005)
Evans has a close relationship with the Obama campaign. She hosted
Obama's first Hollywood fundraiser in February 2007, along with Steven
Spielberg, David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg and her ex-husband Max
According to Evans' Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin, Evans is on a
first name basis with Obama and discussed Iraq policy with Obama at another
Hollywood fundraiser on June 24, 2008.
Evans is listed on the Obama website as having bundled between $50,000
and $100,000. She has also contributed the maximum $2300 to his primary
campaign, according to FEC records.
In addition to supporting the insurgency in Iraq, Evans recently
expressed her agreement with Osama bin Laden's reasons for attacking
America on September 11, 2001 in an interview broadcast June 3, 2008:
Jodie Evans:..."We were attacked because we were in Saudi Arabia, that
was the message of Osama, was that because we had our bases in the Middle
East, he attacked the United States."
Paul A. Ibbetson: "Do you think that's a valid argument?"
Evans: "Sure. Why do we have bases in the Middle East? We totally
violated the rights of that country. Why do we get to have bases in the
Also in that interview, Evans said Code Pink's goal is to "undermine
the war effort (of the United States") and that she wished Saddam Hussein
was still in power.
Toward that goal, Evans has worked with the governments of Saddam
Hussein (in 2003), Hugo Chavez and the Castro brothers, as well as
pro-insurgent elements in the Middle East.
While supporting the Iraq insurgency abroad, Evans has led a campaign
against the Marines at home in Berkeley, where Code Pink has called the
Marines "assassins" and she has likened the Marine recruiting office to a
The Obama campaign has rejected two requests by pro-troop organizations
that Obama renounce Evans.
Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com, an
independent grassroots group comprised of veterans, military families and
other patriotic Americans, issued the following statement applauding the
RNC and reiterating the call for Obama to renounce Evans:
"Barack Obama has said he knows he needs to earn the trust of the
military. When he speaks before the Veterans of Foreign Wars today, he
could take a giant step toward earning that trust by renouncing Jodie Evans
and her bundled campaign dollars and denounce her support of the Iraq
"The RNC is to be commended for speaking out against Evans. We hope
that they too will join the call for Obama to renounce Jodie Evans."
DEBKAfile's military sources report Moscow's planned retaliation for America's missile interceptors in Poland and US-Israeli military aid to Georgia may come in the form of installing Iskandar surface missiles in Syria and its Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad.
Russian Baltic and Middle East warships, submarines and long-range bombers may be armed with nuclear warheads, according to Sunday newspapers in Europe.
In Georgia, Russian troops and tanks advanced to within 30 km of Tbilisi Saturday, Aug. 15. A Russian general said Sunday they had started pulling out after president Dimitry Medvedev signed the ceasefire agreement with Georgia and president George W. Bush called again for an immediate withdrawal.
After routing Georgia over the breakaway enclaves of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Moscow appears to be eying Poland, the Middle East, and possibly Ukraine, as the main arenas for its reprisals.
One plan on the table in Moscow, DEBKAfile's sources report, is the establishment of big Russian military, naval and air bases in Syria and the release of advanced weapons systems withheld until now to Iran (the S-300 air-missile defense system) and Syria (the nuclear-capable 200 km-range Iskandar surface missile).
Shortly before the Georgian conflict flared, Moscow promised Washington not to let Iran and Syria have these sophisticated pieces of hardware.
The Iskander's cruise attributes make its launch and trajectory extremely hard to detect and intercept. If this missile reaches Syria, Israel will have to revamp its anti-missile defense array and Air Force assault plans for the third time in two years, as it constitutes a threat which transcends all its defensive red lines.
Moscow's war planners know this and are therefore considering new sea and air bases in Syria as sites for the Iskander missiles. Russia would thus keep the missiles under its hand and make sure they were not transferred to Iran. At the same time, Syrian crews would be trained in their operation.
DEBKAfile's military sources report Syrian president Bashar Assad will be invited to Moscow soon to finalize these plans in detail.
Military spokesmen in Moscow said Saturday and Sunday that Russian military planners to started redesigning the nation’s strategic plans for a fitting response to America's decision to install 10 missile interceptors in Poland and the war developments in Georgia.
The chairman of the Israeli Knesset foreign affairs and defense committee, Tzahi Hanegbi, spoke out strongly Sunday, Aug. 17, against treasury plans to slash the defense budget. He warned that the military faced grave confrontations in the coming year - possibly on several fronts.
Expect the games to begin real soon...
The Russian link to terrorism is going to be revealed soon....BOOM
WARSAW, Poland - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her Polish counterpart signed a deal Wednesday to build a U.S. missile defense base in Poland, an agreement that prompted an infuriated Russia to warn of a possible attack against the former Soviet satellite.
The deal to install 10 U.S. interceptor missiles just 115 miles from Russia's westernmost frontier also has strained relations between Moscow and the West, ties that already troubled by Russia's invasion of its former Soviet neighbor, U.S. ally Georgia, earlier this month.
Rice and Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski signed the deal Wednesday morning.
"It is an agreement which will help us to respond to the threats of the 21st century," she said afterward.
